The Northern Territory Government has approved licences to build the first-ever Beetaloo pipeline.
The $70 million Sturt Plateau Pipeline project will be constructed by Australian energy infrastructure business and pipeline operator APA Group.
The 37km natural gas pipeline will connect Tamboran Resources’ Shenandoah South Project to the Amadeus Gas Pipeline, which is also owned and operated by APA and stretches from Alice Springs to Darwin.
The Sturt Plateau Pipeline is expected to open in 2026.
The pipeline passes through pastoral land and will be buried for its entire length other than surface facility locations at each end of the pipeline.
It is expected that the Sturt Plateau Pipeline project will generate up to 150 jobs during peak construction.
